URGENT: WP Extension Rejected; No Status But got the AOR now; What to do?

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are having a wonderful time.

I am listing my whole process here. Please advise on what should I do?

- Did Masters in Ontario in 2015; got a 1 yr Post Grad Work Permit expiring Dec 2016
- Applied for Provincial Nominee in Feb 2016; got the OINP Certificate in Nov 2016
- Applied for Work Permit Extension in Nov 2016 & PR (Paper-Based Process) in Dec 2016
- WP Extension got rejected in Jan 2017 as I didn't get the AOR: the AOR is supposed to come in 18 weeks; got 90 days to apply for restoration of status
- I got the AOR today (Feb 9th, 2017). I am still in the country but I booked a flight back home 1.5 weeks from now.

Please let me know on what should I do? I need to come to a decision ASAP.

You can not apply for a BOWP since you don't have a valid work permit right now. What you can do is that apply for a closed work permit with a work permit support letter from Oinp and an employee compliance letter from your employer.

Last time when I talked to the CiC Call centre they said I can apply for a restoration of status with a work permit again after I get the AOR. Now I got the AOR and my provincial nominee certificate is still valid so do you think I am eligible for that option?

From what I understand that you need to have a valid work permit to apply for bowp. Restoration of status is different and not a work permit. What they might be telling you is different closed work permit.
