Hello

I have two questions. I have all my documents ready to be sent out for my application. I just have two problems. I left Canada about 9 months and I left the Job that qualifies me for the Canadian Experience Class in 2012 August. I delayed sending my application due to numerous reasons. Basically I am applying from Outside Canada.

QUESTION 1.

I understand you must have had at least 12 months experience during the three years BEFORE you apply, However I have been informed that I am only Eligible for CEC when applying outside Canada if I submit my application 12 months after I left my Job that qualifies me for CEC, Is this true?? or outdated information

Question 2.

I only have my T4 for 2012 and I am unable to file for my 2013 taxes since I am outside the Country. Can I include an explanation since I am outside the country or no?

Please help I am freaking out a bit.

This is not clear - August 2012 was the start or end of your job?

Outdated - used to be true, is not true now.

Being outside the country is not a valid excuse for not filing your tax return. I would strongly suggest that you file your return before you apply, then your excuse would be that you filed your 2013 return late and will forward the documents as soon as you receive them.
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/nnrsdnts/ndvdls/lvng-eng.html

To get a copy of your T4 for 2013, you can contact your former employer. If your former employer files their documents with the CRA electronically, you may be able to print off a copy from the CRA website (you would have to set up "My Account.")

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/ncm-tx/rtrn/cmpltng/slps/menu-eng.html

In the meantime, it is possible that your employer filed the "Record of Employment" with Service Canada - if so, you might be able to get a copy from their website, or a copy mailed to you. This would be good to provide since it could be some time before you receive the tax documents -

So, you remained in Canada and worked for most of 2013, but that job was not qualifying, is that correct?

This means that you are running out of time to apply within the 3-year window, yes?

Yes!! I am running out of time. THE JOB THAT QUALIFIES ME - started from March 2010 AND I left in August 2012 from August 2012 to 2013 the job I did does not count. There has been soo many delays but I have every document now. Except the correct Notice of assessment. I only have The notice of assessment for 2010, 2011 and 2012. just not "2013". This is because I do not have my T4 for 2013 (the actual form) to file my taxes Because I am out of the country and it was never sent to my old address in Canada. I only have the online version of the T4 from CRA website and I want to file my taxes by myself using this and send it by mail.

SUGGESTION: I want to send my application anyways and attach an explanation letter stating that I will be sending the T4 document when it arrives. I will include all the paystubs I have for that year and also the Only version of the T4 (problem with this online version is that it does not have my name or sin on it)

Help

I worked for part of 2013 and I filed my taxes in feb or march of 2013. I left Canada about Sept 2013.

OK - so since the last job from 2013 is not a qualifying job, here's my suggestion - include all the T4s and NOAs from the qualifying job - 2010-2012 (your situation is a bit different, I wouldn't normally recommend this). Remember to black out your SIN on all documents. Also include a copy of the T4 ("most recent") from 2013 (the one from the website), attach a note to it stating that you haven't received your 2013 NOA yet, and will forward it with the official T4 when you can. It won't matter AS much, since it's not related to the qualifying experience (but you still need to do it). And again, no need to send paystubs in most cases, and particularly not in this case, since you aren't claiming that experience.

Okay!! I was going to do that eventually. I was just wondering "Why wouldn't you normally recommend this?"

Because instructions are to provide only the most recent T4 and NOA, and as a rule, I say give them what they ask for, nothing more, nothing less. Too much documentation is annoying at best, and I've seen people screw themselves with it. But in your case, the extra T4s and NOAs are essential.
