I applied to renew my WP (LMIA exempt, same employer) online from within Canada. Current processing time is 112 days which would mean that it will get approved around September 22 excluding mailing time. Then, I will have to apply for the temporary resident visa which will take another 20 days plus mailing time (estimated arrival of passport with TRV Oct 15).
My problem is I have to attend a conference in Europe (in which I am presenting) on Sep 30. I already submitted a specific case inquiry (including an invitation letter to the conference) asking to process my WP urgently. I have received no response so far.
- Any advice regarding how to successfully request urgent processing of my WP application and TRV?
- Once I get the work permit, Could I go to the border to obtain the TRV? I understand you can flagpole for the WP, Can I do the same for the TRV?
