Hello everyone,,
I hope you're doing good!

I must travel as soon as possible, I have an expired French visit visa (expired 2 months ago), and now I need to travel, and time is not in my side, If I want to apply for a French visa again, it will take almost 2-3 WEEKS here. However, it is only 3 DAYSto get a Canadian visa and to be able to leave the country.

If I get a Canadian visa and applied for asylum, will my French expired visa be an issue? especially that I have 4 expired French visas on my passport over the last 6 years. Do you recommend me to apply for a Canadian one and leave as soon as possible, or I must apply for another French one as it may be an issue getting an asylum in Canada as it's a safe country?

Thanks a lot,
Jean.

What is your country of origin? Where are you now - which country will you be applying from? And what is your current status in that country?

Hi :)

I'm Jordanian, and I'm in Jordan. Once I get a Canadian visa, I'll be applying in Canada upon arrival. I'm not sure if my expired French visa will be an issue or not.

If it's an issue, and could affect my application decision, I'll have to apply for a new French visit visa and apply in France, I'm just trying to save time here as Canadian visa can be issued in 3 days only.

Thanks!

Your expired French visa won't be an issue.

To be approved for a Canadian TRV, you must prove you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

Be aware the processing times on the CIC web site are just estimates. Actual processing times can be anywhere from a few days to a few months.

Not sure, where you have those 3 days.
Maybe you mixed up eTA application with visitor visa.

For paper based application it sais 13 days for Paris. But again, it depends from case to case.

1. As it his/her intention to claim asylum in Canada, the French visas will be a huge red flag for not claiming asylum there.
