Hi,

I received a letter from CIC to get my status restored. My question: From the day that they sent me the letter - do I have 90 days to get my status restored? if not, if it's 90 days from the date when my last status expired, should I not have received a letter from CIC telling me that I'm overstaying and should leave Canada? My 90 day restoration period expired in Sept - but I received a letter from CIC in November. Please advise.

Based on the information in your previous posts, your restoration period expired in September. Your consultant submitted your extension request too late and it didn't reach CIC until after your status expired in July. So your restoration period start in July (when your status expired) and ran for 90 days until September.

If your consultant had submitted your extenion request in time and then your extension request had been refused by CIC, then you would have had 90 days from the time you received the refusal letter to restore your status.

However since your consultant messed up, you only had 90 days from the time your status expired in July.
