I'm sorry that you have to go through this painful period. You will fight this thing back and your husband will be with you. I am keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks blueboom and yes please keep us in your prayers. I can stand on the faith of others during the moments when mine gets a bit weak so I thank God for all of you kind forum members. Blessings.

Hello forum folks, I am praying some of you will have some knowledge or experience with this one. I have noticed from reading on this forum that even parents do not get TRVs to be able to be present for the births of their own children, which to me is cruel and inhumane by the way.

On that note, I just received some bad news yesterday, my Dr. confirmed that I have cancer :( and I will need some major surgery immediately, by next week. 4-8 week recovery time then radiation treatment 5 days/week for 4-6 weeks. My husband and I have been together for 6 years and we had never previously been successful at getting him a TRV for him to visit me in Canada. So we figured we would just submit our application and sit tight for the now 19 month processing times and I may get back to his country a few times while we wait.

This changes everything now and he is inconsolable :'( because, in the last 5 years, 2008 my father died of cancer, in 2010 my younger brother died of cancer, 2012 oldest brother almost died from cancer (he has survived so far thank you God) and now I have the Big C. Prior to 2008, not one peson in my family had cancer. So please everyone = do not put off until tmw. what you can do today.

We are running around now like crazy to submit yet again another TRV in the off chance that husband may be able to get one. WE know our chances are low, but feel we need to try again. My question is, has anyone reading this even been in this situation, for lack of a better term, an illness or medical TRV request. I have all the normal stuff plus all of the medical documentation, Dr. notes, pathology results etc. Any other advice or words of wisdom?

Senior members, can you please chime in?. My husband and I would be most grateful and please pray for us. Thank you and Blessings.

My heartfelt prayers for you, CdnandTrini!
Hope everything gets resolved with your case as fast as possible!
Please keep your positive attitude, that will definitely help you in your journey!
Though all of us need good luck, May God shower you more grace!

Thank you Namachii. I appreciate your kind addition to the prayer chain :). I pray that we all get speedy processing and are reunited with our loved ones. My case is one of many that hits a "life bump" and more grace is definitely desired for my family and all of us going through this immigration challenge. Blessings to you and your family as well.

just one opinion but providing you don't have any expected obstacles for a PR (ie: criminal record or health issues for the applicant), I would suggest you go straight for the PR. Our application was through the VO with the longest wait time in the world (Nairobi), 31 months at the time and even with a hiccup in our application we made it through 5.5 months. point in sharing our time is to say perhaps that is an even better option for you.

I agree talking to your MP for assistance asap. very best wishes to you and your spouse.

Thank you for the encouragement CanadaNow. Our PR was already submitted and I have been approved to sponsor and if they refuse the TRV we have no other choice anyway but to wait for the PR. We were hoping my husband could at least visit for my surgery/recovery and possible treatment so we are going to give it one more shot. Congrats to you for getting through so quickly - God can still perform miracles - even with immigration :)!! Blessings.
