1] Should I give 7 months average to be safe ?

OR

2] just use https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html & use the date exactly by subtracting 6 months from the date I get the bank certificate.

3] Or else is there any other method --If someone can explain with an example since when to when 6 months is to be taken ?

To be honest, average balance is not at all required, they just want to see the current balance in your account. Majority of the people have been providing the average balance, however it is not at all compulsory.

So in your case the duration becomes irrelevant. You may chose 6 months from the date you are getting the letter issued.

Cheers

This is incorrect. You need a 6-month balance or else-refusal. On the day of issuing POF count 6 months prior, whats the big deal? I submitted 6 month balance and account status to the day - exactly 6 months.

I usually use option (2) that you mentioned. Balance over the prior 180 days should be fine. You are welcome to show 7 months if you feel more comfortable.

Gurpreet, The average balance over 6 months IS INDEED requested. Please see "Proof of Funds" section in the link below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp#document_checklist

It mentions "..average balance for the past six months" which is why people send 6 months statement.

So correct method is -just use https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html & use the date exactly by subtracting 6 months from the date I get the bank certificate stamped.

So just to confirm again. Use https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html & use the start date exactly by subtracting 6 months from the date I get the bank certificate stamped.

Average balance was X for the period- input start date (from above method) & input end date (the day bank certificate is printed).

You are delirious.

Yes exactly. These are CIC's own words. And since most banks do not calculate the average balance, we send a 6 month statement instead so CIC can calculate the average themselves.
Or that! I used this method too.
