URGENT: Extend Visa or Apply for a NEW one?

Hey I'm a student in Canada but my visa is about to expire soon. Do I just log onto the IRCC portal and create an application for a visitor visa OR is there some way to extend my current one?

Why are you submitting the application?

If you want to be able to leave Canada and return, you need to apply for a new TRV (not an extension).

Alright, and through what portal? GCKey or IRCC? Bear in mind I'm applying within Canada
