URGENT!! Can I restore my status from student to visitor!?

I previously had a student status that has now expired due to our sponsorship application being sent back for a missing signature. I have to apply for a restoration of status but since I am no longer a student and don't have a valid study permit I can't really apply for that, can I just apply for restoration of a visitor status even though that technically wasn't my status?

but that's just it, I don't have a study permit since I'm done with school. That's why i was planning on restoring to a visitor status instead, but I'm nervous that it might not be approved.

You can apply for Restoration as a visitor. No one can say if you will be approved or not.
