URGENT: Can I convert my BC PNP EEBC nomination to Normal PNP without ee? Lawyer says no, need real experiences!

Hi everyone,

I am in a very desperate situation and would appreciate any advice or recent data points.

My Situation:

• Stream: BC PNP - International Post-Graduate (2024 intake, legacy stream).
• Status: I have already received my Nomination Certificate under the Express Entry BC (EEBC) stream.
• The Issue: I already accepted the nomination in my IRCC Express Entry profile, but I have not submitted it yet. I realized my profile is Ineligible. I made a calculation error regarding the federal FSW 1-year experience length (51.5 weeks instead of 52 weeks), so I cannot enter the pool.
• The Solution I want: I want to email BCPNP (PNPPostNom@gov.bc.ca) to request a Stream Conversion from EEBC to Skills Immigration (Base Stream/Non-EE). I fully meet the requirements for the Base stream (since they are identical to EEBC for the IPG category).

The Conflict: I consulted a consultant today, and they told me this is "impossible" and that BCPNP might refuse or cancel my nomination if I ask.

My Questions:

1. Has anyone successfully converted their nomination from EE to Base Stream?
2. Since my nomination is based on the 2024 legacy IPG stream, will converting it cause issues since that specific stream is now closed/changed?
3. Is there a specific template or wording I should use when emailing the Post-Nomination team?

Please help! This nomination is my only chance. Thank you so much.

You can’t change streams without starting from scratch and qualifying.
