Hi everyone,

Can you please tell me which 5 years period I should be reporting
when someone is applying for a PR renewal...

here is the case:

Landed immigrant on: 15-August-2009

They stayed for 2 weeks and left back home (on 30-August-2009)

Returned back on: 1-July-2011

Since that time they are still in Canada & never left (so they're eligible for citizenship, but they need a PR as they plan to leave for a short trip 2-3 weeks at home country).

THE QUESTION: :)

The PR renewal application will be dated on 25-November-2014

Should they put the addresses ONLY between
25-November-2009 till 25-November-2014 (this is exactly 5 years)

OR
They should also include the address BEFORE that time (i.e. when they landed, which was MORE than 5 years ago)
so from 15-August-2009 till 25-November-2014

I could not confirm this, so if someone can confirm if they should go back EXACTLY 5 years (from application renewal day?)
OR
they have to include all addresses since the start of their permanent residency status (which was before 5 years period)

Thanks to your help everyone :D

In the application form to renew your PR card, they only ask for the past 5 years.

Yes 5 years from the day you sign your application.

Thanks Leon,

So its 5 years from the day they sign PR renewal application...
its NOT from the day they became permanent residents?

Just double checking,

Thanks again,
Mary

Oh thanks for your reply CanV... i didn't see it before I sent the above comment to Leon...

Good I understand now that they are considering only 5 years back form the date of signing the application...
they are not concerned about the 5-year validity of the PR card.

Thank you for confirming... :D
