Five days ago, i sent IRCC Manila the following email:

Hello ma'am/ Sir

My name is Carley W******** (UCI: *************)
I am the spouse and sponsor of J**** G******** D******* (UCI: **********)
Our application Number is F*********

I am emailing you today because i have a question.

In the next few months, will be renewing my Canadian passport and changing the surname on my passport to my husbands surname.

My Health card was just renewed a few weeks ago, and i am waiting for it to come in the mail. The surname on my health card is D*******.

I also have a Ontario Photo Card (Provincial Identification Card) with my surname as D*******.

My question is:
Should i inform IRCC Manila about the name change on my passport, even though my half of the application is complete?

I will send a photocopy of my Ontario Photo Card and renewed Health Card once i receive the card in the mail.

thank you in advance,
Carley W******* (D*******)

In response, I got the following email early the next morning:

Dear Madam,

This is in response to your message below.

Please be informed that we do not require your updated Ontario Photo card and health card.

Please be advised that your spouse’s application is currently being processed. It is with a visa officer and is queued for background review.

Rest assured that we are diligently processing the application and will contact you by email or phone if further documents or information are required.

We trust this information is of assistance.

Sincerely,

My reason for writing this post is to ask, what do they mean when they say:
"It is with a visa officer and is queued for background review."

Is the "Background Review" same as the Background check.

(My timeline is in my signature if you need more information)

Thank you in advance :)
