Good day everyone,

i applied to express entry on Feb 2016 and received an ITA and PR and a visa Dec 2016 and it is valid until Mar 2017. but i applied as single.
i was planning to get married in Feb 2017.
What can i do to take my wife with me ? should i declare that i got married before leaving to canada for landing ? or will this make my visa be cancelled and reevaluated (if i got a reevaluation , i will not be eligible anymore)

Thanks

If you get married before you land in Canada, then you only have one option. You have to return your PR visa to your visa office and let them know you have gotten married. You must then submit all of the paperwork and other requirements (e.g. PCC, medical) to add your spouse to your application. You then have to wait until the visa office processes your spouse before a new PR visa is issued to both of you which you can then use to land in Canada.

If you want to avoid doing the above, then your only option is to land in Canada and become a PR first - and then get married afterwards.

Thanks scylla for your help

the dilemma here will my application be reevaluated ( i mean regarding CRS score and my points) or i will only proceed from the moment after i received that ITA.

in other words , if i got married before landing and declare the IRCC about my status , is there any chance that my application be refused or rejected (for any reason other than medical or police certificates) i don't mind the delay or even repeating the medical and PCC , as long as i am sure that in the end i will be granted a PR visa again.
Thanks

I am pretty sure that getting married after e-APR and before landing won't affect your score. But my advice is to read every page in this topic to get a full understanding of your situation.

Hello,

I do have the same concern. I am confused weather getting married before landing may refuse my PR forever. You added this post a year and half ago. May you let me know what decision you finally made and what is your current status? any advise please?
Thanks

You wont be refused. But you ll have to inform cic of your marriage and provide the required documentation. Just don't land as single when you're married
