Hi guys here is my story
actually my timeline is i came to canada in 2016 , applied for asylum in 2017 and in 2018 got my pr . i got naturalized in 2022 .

My mom died a¿1 year later in 2023 so i had to go back i took care of the funerals and now i am taking care of whole family including my siblings etc .

ive been busy since with inheritance and administration matters . i realized we are in 2025 and now wishing to return to canada to continue my live there.

is it legal that ive been back in my country for so long or i should expect extra scrutinity .

thanks for your insights

hopefully my long text didnt bother you

You’re a Canadian citizen so you’re entitled to return to your home country. Doesn’t look great but legal. Assume you notified CRA that you left Canada. You will also have to reapply for provincial healthcare even if your card is not expired because you must also meet the residency obligation in the province to qualify.
