upfront medicals - how long to wait?

How long does one wait for an appointment at one of the CIC physicians in Toronto, does anyone have an idea? I don't want to go too soon (they are only valid 12 months, right?), but we want to apply in July and I don't want to find we have to wait a few months before there's a spot :/

Just call and ask...? If there's a long waiting list make an appointment. Seems striaghtforward.
