Hello all

I am very close to submitting my wife's sponsorship application, but the one last thing that is giving us problem is getting her Upfront Medical Examination done. She lives in Iraq and unfortunately there is only one place in the capital Baghdad at the INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR IMMIGRATION (IOM) that will do these exams.

When she went to the hospital they said the hospital receives a list from the Canadian Embessy to as who is required to get the test done because if they do it now it will not be valid for a long time ??!! Yet in the Application Form and the checklist it states that an upfront examination is required before submitting the application. I AM CONFUSED HERE

Can this be done later ? can I submit my application without it (Or Bad Idea) ? Will Immigration Canada Request the medical exam in the middle of the process ?

FYI, both phone numbers provided for the Panel Physician in the CIC website are not reachable and sometimes turned off.

What to do Huh?

Thanks for help

See this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp. You now have a choice either to do the medical up-front or wait until you are asked. Last time I looked, the document checklist had not been brought up-to-date and still requires the first page of the medical report to be enclosed with the application. If you decide to do the medical up-front there is no problem. If you choose to wait until you are asked, I suggest you make that clear in a note attached to the checklist
