Updating employer info with IRCC?

Hello everyone!

I have a quick question. I am a freelance research paper editor in Canada. Usually I had no employer directly but right after I submitted my application I entered a formal contract with a research center I do papers for. Do I have to update IRCC with this info to avoid misrepresentation?
