Morning,

Are they supposed to update the ECAS site when things happen? For example, although I received SA it still says "In process". For both of us, we have assigned a lawyer and now also sent in two additional pieces of paper. This was two months ago. The site hasn't changed since March. Is that normal? Seems like a giant waste of a tool if they don't actually put anything on it.

Is there any way for me to get any idea where things are?

Thanks!

yes, this is completely normal. ECAS is not an accurate source for information on your application. IF anything does change in ECAS, it is generally AFTER you are already aware of the change. There are many people who report their ECAS never changes, even after landing as a PR.

Really the only way right now to gain insight about what's going on with your file is to order the electronic notes known as GMSC notes. they may or may not contain actual insight about your application processing. For the most part, the process is completely silent and you won't know what's happening unless you receive a request, your GMSC notes or your COPR (approval paper) in the mail.

CIC is starting a new system called MYCIC, and supposedly you'll be able to link your pr application to the system starting tomorrow. no one knows whether this will actually do what it suggests it will do which is provide up to date information about your application. only time will tell if it actually is beneficial or just another "giant waste of a tool".

After we got SA it never changed from In Process too. I wouldn't worry about it though, if you have your SA email then that should suffice as a formal approval.

For us it's been at In Process on both sides for a few months now.

I believe the sponsor side will always be in process, my husband has now landed and it still says it.

How do we go about getting GMSC notes? :)

So I've tried linking to this MYCIC thing with no luck. We had our application out and double/triple checked the information yet it continues to say our application doesn't exist (yet I have SA).
