No, I only send the new passport details + scan, no new forms.

You did the right thing. Do not send new forms unless you're asked too.

Btw: If you do send them an email, please make sure you pick a good subject line. I always used subjects lines like:
Updated form IMM0008 (12-2011)E for application: E0000XXXXX*
Updated document (passport) for application: E0000XXXXX

* They asked me to send them an updated form in this case

I always started my email with the application number:
ie

E0000XXXXXX Updated Passport

something like that. Shouldn't really matter as long as you state the application number
and the purpose of the email in the subject line.

Yeah, just get the important keywords in so they can quickly see what the email is about.
Also, I would recommend not to use the word Urgent, unless it's really urgent or you might be bumped down :P

Thank you, Toby and mrFoce. :)

Just an update here.....I sent CPP-Ottawa copies of our new passports last night (I've had them for over a month now and was just being lazy), and they responded early this morning saying they've made the necessary adjustments to my application.

Again, I don't know why they choose to respond sometimes and not others. It's just as wonky as everything else that happens at CIC.

Weird. I emailed them three times already, no response. Good for you tho!

So this is just a theory....if you look at my earlier post in this thread, I had twice sent documents that they said they did not receive. The third time I sent it, I re-scanned it and reduced the size to below 500KB, and they then responded that they had received it.

I'm not sure if this could be the case with you, but I'm just wondering whether they have spam filters that filter out some emails and not others. Again, check you GCMS notes. If it appears there, you're all good. Plus, I don't know if they require copies of updated passports.....don't know if it really changes anything.

You'll always get an auto reply from them. Did you get the auto reply in these cases?
The auto reply seems to take about 1 minute, I always used that as an indicator that they have received it on their end.

Yes, always received the auto reply. Checked GCMS notes. According to the notes my passport document
has been updated. So even if they never respond, they update your file.

Yes, I always received an auto-reply. But when I would contact them several weeks later, they would say they couldn't see an update to my file, so I should send the documents again.
