Hi,

I am also interested in the same just because it provides specialisation and is of 2 yrs . Wanted to know how MOM is different from MBA if you have researched on it?? Also is it as valuable as an MBA degree???

Regarding the jobs a consultant told me that you can get a job of min 40-50k /year if if you have done it from a smaller university like VIU etc.(Correct me if i am wrong).

Thanks

@ramaneet: So according to your counseller ,smaller university like viu can help u fetch a job around 50k. Since ottawa is a big brand compared viu and windsor ,u may expect more than that??
Why dont u have a look at masters in engineering management program from the university of ottawa..

Hey, Obviously this program is difft than engg mgmt curriculum wise, but demand wise it is equally appreciated. Its only windsor and mcmaster that offer this program and the rewards are awesome. It will make u lot more flexible since ull be open to both technical and mgmt prospects. Another + point is that this is a masters program so u can later directly apply for PR under PNP without having any job offer in hand. Inshort, this is a sure short for getting a PR. I have done lot of research on this. u can alos google linkedin profile for people with this degree and see their achievements. Afterall, i wont make a poor decision after spending 4 yrs as a manager here in india... ATB stay in touch..

Ramneet, just one point to say.. Have a look at my reply. and secondly dont trust consultants blindly. They say anything to send u abroad coz they get lot of commission. so use ur own consince. Yes, the university is good, ranks well and the job prospects are equally good. also, ur base engineering qualification makes a huge difference in the job market. so it is a wise enough decision. they have placements too.... do let me know if u want some help or any other informaiton. on an avg u can expect 60-70K CAD starting, again depends on ur caliber and past experience.

C'mon folks, we need more posts here. Specially from Engineers going for management. We can help each other for discussing various other options to explore along with a probable decent SOP to fetch the VISA.

M.O.M is difft. than MBA in regards that M.O.M is focused on specific areas of expertise like mft, supply chain, financial mgmt etc. There are lot of universities around the world offering Master of management or master in management. some offer master of science in mgmt. presently on 2 uni. in canada offers MOM viz windsor & Mcgill. U can apply to them even if u dont have job exp. N u need to hurry coz windsor is about to release offer letters on 25th march... So this month is almost deadline for u... ATB

hi, i have offer from brock mba isp for operations management and windsor mom for logisitics and supply chain.

could someone help me on finalising. i got a months time only.

brock is exp but the location is just an hour from toronto and then job wise too they got coop which is easier as it is in toronto.

windsor mom is good but no coop and it is away from toronto and no real jobs there.

i dont have too much idea on brock mba isp cuz iv not been able to find anyone studying that yet.

windsor mom has a lot of people studying that.

I would suggest go for Brock rather. Reason being windsor wont provide much job opportunities while being on campus. Its a city far from main cities like toronto and finding a part time job could be a problem. some find in 3-4 mnths. Its all on ur networking. Brock is ok n Only advantage is the co-op term which helps u gain valuable canadian work ex and also earn.
