I am the employer of a home support worker, who has completed his 6 months full time work experience and is currently waiting for his PR application which is being processed. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances (on my part) I have had to suspend his ongoing employment at this point in time. So he is "unemployed" at this time. My question is would this affect IRCC's decision in granting him his PR? My understanding is once he has completed 6 months of full time employment he qualifies for his PR. I am wondering if IRCC has "additional requirements" etc? He has significant savings, and is still residing in my home free of charge. Could someone possibly give me some feedback on this? thanks so much in advance.

If you are unable to afford to hire them at this point yes that would be an issue because of the job offer component. Tough to justify that you employed a caregiver and have stopped employing them after they applied for PR but are still providing a job offer. If there was genuine need for a caregiver and you could afford to pay a caregiver they would keep working for you throughout the processing period. Also extremely strange to allow a caregiver to keep living with you unless they are primarily a family member or friend not an employee.

So just as they did the required six months of employment to apply for PR you suddenly have financial issues to continue employing them ?

What did you put on their ROE ?

And you’re letting them stay rent free ?

And who is caring for you now ?

Come on yah got so many red flags of someone trying to manipulate the system it’s not funny

IMO the risk you are running is that IRCC will say he no longer has a job offer given you've had to suspend employment. If IRCC decides he no longer has a valid job offer, I expect this would impact PR being granted.
