Hi,

I have a B.A. from a Canadian university, and around 10 months of work experience since graduation (Full time + Part time). As I will be starting my M.A. in September, which includes paid Teaching Assistantship (roughly 20 hrs/wk), could this go towards my 1 year requirement of work experience to apply for Permanent Residency under CEC? What would be the NOC for Teaching Assistantship?

If Teaching Assistantship does not list under NOC 0, A, or B, would a research assistantship be deemed as adequate work experience to give me eligibility to apply for PR with the CEC?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Summary:
BA from CANADA (4 years) + 10 months of work experience (F/T- office admin + P/T-teaching Model United Nations) + 1 year's work of P/T M.A. Teaching Assistantship or Research Assistantship = Qualification to apply for PR in Canada under the CEC?

have you ever applied to university ? I have search in these websites of many university.and finally i had one.

Ceebie,

Teaching Assistantships as well as Research Assistantships are listed under NOC "skill level A" with the NOC Code 4122, and they can count towards your 1 year experience for CEC as long as your actual duties match with those listed under the NOC Code 4122
See http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=4122

If this link is not active, just search for 4122 in the NOC Code List.
