Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen and my boyfriend is from Honduras. He needs a Visa to come to Canada. I am currently pregnant and would like to have him with me at least on the day of birth which would be at the beginning of December. What is the best way to apply for a Visa to make sure our application will be approved?

Thanks

It will be quite difficult because with you and your eventual child in Canada his ties are stronger to Canada than to Honduras.

He needs to prove he has strong ties to his home country (e.g. employment, property ownership, assets) and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. He will also need to demonstrate that he has the funds available to pay for his trip. Unless he has extensive past travel to countries requiring visas such as the US and UK, he should keep his trip short (2-3 weeks at most). I'm not sure I would mention the pregnancy. That might actually weaken his application by making IRCC concerned he has plans on remaining in Canada long term.
