everyone needs to get a financial letter as per CIC requirements.Pac_man said:Hi guys
Can i ask what UK citizens are showing as proof of funds?
Will uploading the front page of my monthly bank statement suffice? Or do you need a personalised letter from the bank.
thanks
All the statements. They want you to prove where you got your money from.Pac_man said:bloody hell!
Are you uploading the full monthly statements or only the cover pages?
What does the financial letter entail? Any samples/templates etc?
I told Barclays, I needed the letter in a certain format since I am investing in property overseas and need to declare my assets and liabilities. They agreed to give me the letter in my desired format to whomsoever it may concern but without the local currency (CAD) and they printed a sample as well. The minute you say immigration, they turn the other way. My local branch declined when I said immigration so I went to a nicer branch at Park Lane. They always have rich investors at that branch.Pac_man said:Likewise. I also bank with Barclays and have my money in an ISA
Which dept did you contact from barclays - phone or email?#
thanks
£60 of free money is worth it.kryt0n said:There's nothing I could get out of Lloyds except raising a complaint.
I got £60 "for my troubles" and they sent me a letter stating what accounts I had and when they were opened.
The first letter I got my name was spelt wrong.
The new letter that arrived yesterday had the wrong date of account opening.
I'm hoping to get a new one and maybe another £60 this week!!
Bottom line, don't bank with Lloyds.
I have an account with Lloyds and yes they're terrible. I don't know if you're around London but Metro Bank is pretty goodkryt0n said:There's nothing I could get out of Lloyds except raising a complaint.

Do you think WES can pay for my PR for spelling my name wrong and asking me to submit everything again?kryt0n said:Just called them again.
£60 first for raising the complaint because the branch etc were a bit of a pain.
1st letter my name was spelt wrong
2nd letter the start date of my account was wrong
Just got another £50
Hopefully the third letter is wrong. Lloyd's will be funding my PR!!

Yup...that service was cancelled Jan 1st 2017. I shit you not.dupsy21 said:I bank with Lloyds bank and I was able to get a print out of my average balance per month. I attached this with a letter that showed my account number, opening dates and current balances of all my account with Lloyds Bank. This was in October 2015 when I submitted my application though.
It was a battle to get this. How did I go about it? I went to the branch near me and they told me Lloyds bank cannot give me a letter that contains the average balance of my bank accounts. So, I called the customer service. The lady I spoke to said they don't have the facilities to issue me the required information. I had to ask her which one of these three they don't have: Paper, Ink or my account details. She later allowed me to speak to a supervisor. It was the Supervisor that contacted the branch near me to issue me the letter.
