Hi guys,

i am wondering if i can submit a Visitors visa for my wife even tho i have spouse application in process ?

also i am wondering if i have to resubmit all the information required again

thanks,

Yes, you're allowed to apply. However, chances of getting the visa aren't very good.

You will have to submit all required forms for the TRV. Many of them are probably similar or the same to what you had to submit for the PR-Spouse.

Do you have Sponsor Approval yet? It's best to apply after SA. There's a slightly better chance for success. (But still very low chance.)

Your wife will need to show significant ties to her home country for approval.

PS: This section is for permanent resident applications. You may find relevant topics and better advice in "Visitors."

I have my spousal approval already, it is in the Canadian embassy in Egypt collecting dust until next year probably (unless I go down and pay them a lot of money ell oh ell)

I am wondering though, how much is a visitor visa ?

yes you can apply for trv. But you have to satisfy visa officer that your spouse will return after the mentioned duration. Read it for useful tips

I believe the best way to go about this is to apply online. first question, when applying online do I need to register as myself or as her ?

another question is if my wife is overseas and I am in Canada and I want to do her application on her behalf would the application be sent to Ottawa or does it have to go to the Canadian embassy where she lives ?

The application needs to be in her name. You can be her representative - but you have to fill out the paperwork.

It will go to her home country. She can't apply for a visitor's visa inside Canada, because she isn't here... :D
