Hi everyone,
My situation:
In 2016-2017 I studied in Canada and didn't work. For these years I didn't file any taxes.
In 2018 I left Canada and from February 2018 until September 2018 I worker in Europe. In October 2018 I moved back to Canada and started working here up until now. Now that I pay income taxes I would like to use my tuition tax credits. To do so I decided to file taxes for 2016-2017 to get tuition tax credits and also I need to files my taxes for 2018 until end of April 2019.
My questions:

To do so I decided to file taxes for 2016-2017 to get tuition tax credits and also I need to files my taxes for 2018 until end of April 2019.
My questions:
- For 2018 do I need to include my income outside Canada (Feb-Sept 2018)? I have already paid taxes in Europe and would like to avoid double taxation.
- Will I be able to use any of my tuition tax credits in 2018 already? For example, in 2018 I paid $10K of total income taxes and I carried forward $7500 (50000*15%) of tuition credits for 2016-2017. Since I already paid income taxes, will I get a refund of $7500 after filing my 2018 taxes or will I carry them forward to 2019?
- Or can my tuition tax credits reduce only federal or provincial income taxes and not the total income taxes?
- Any free software that can assist me in tax preparation (StudioTax, SimpleTax..)? After using this software will I need to mail any documents or does the software send them automatically?
