That's totally right, the skin test is horribly inaccurate, especially in people coming from places where BCG is used -- but I've always understood for the sputum test to be reserved for people who had other symptoms, not an ambiguous skin test.
I'm not a doctor but would agree that trying to get lung butter out of someone who isn't producing any through coughing would seem like the more difficult test to administer. Is it possible to get a swab sample from the upper respiratory tract?

for all of your information, as referred by the DMP i went to a chest specialist. and i went through several other tests including xray. there is no change in the xray. and all other tests were negative. and the chest specialist said i have no problem, i am fine. the bacteria found in the sputum might be dead already.
Hi there

I got my med furtherance in Nov 2012 but as of march end i did not get any reply. So I contacted the DMP and he emailed Manilla. Then he was told that they did contact me but I did not respond. Thats not true!!!

So I got another chest xray as they said they think I have a sign of TB. But my Doctor did all the tests and said I dont have it. Really dont know what to do now. Please do advise

You need to get a remed from the panel physician not your own doctor. They will then inform you if you have TB or not. You can Google TB and see if you have any of the symptoms.

Can you elaborate? So what tests have you done? Does the dmp refer you to lungs specialist? If so, have you had the "tutok gamutan"/ 6 months meds for ptb? Because if your done w/ 6 months meds course they will check you again by means of cxr. If thats clear the lung specialist will give a go ahead for the dmp that your clear.

Hi, My CIC online status is showing "Medical results have been received." what does that mean?

I sent several reports with doctors confirmation that i do not have TB. though the report for sputum culture was positive.

Thanks.

A sputum culture is the most accurate test, far more so than a chest x-ray or a skin reaction -- if it was positive, you have TB.

It just means that the RMO has them in the system. It tells you nothing about the assessment code that they have been given

The embassy never gets the medical examination results. They get an assessment code only. The code tells the visa office whether it is a pass or a pass with surveillance or a fail. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/assess/index.asp
