Hi Seniors,
I have my TRV till next year Sept.
Now I am in Canada and allows me to stay for 6 months.
I should fly back on Sept 2017.
Is there any ways that I can extend my stay for another 2 months.
Since I have US visa ,Can I travel to US and enter back to Toronto? So I will be granted another 6 months Any idea?
Thank you

I believe you can. My mother has done this a few times and stayed for a period of 9 - 10 months in North America. She stayed in Canada for 5 months, then went to the US and lived with my sister for a couple of months and then came back into Canada. She was given a 6 months on every re-entry into Canada. However, she was not given a 6 months validity when she just went to the US for a day trip from Canada.

TRV or visitor status?

You can try. Possible scenarios:

- Your visitor status is not affected, the visitor status expiry date will be unchanged.
- Your visitor status is renewed, can be given from a few weeks up to 6 months.
- Your visitor status is refused, and would not be able to reenter Canada.
