Hello folks

I have my status as a visitor in Canada for 1 year but that permit does not allow re-entry. My question is, can I apply for a TRV using that permit? Before I held a student permit that expired in Oct 2016.

You do not need any permits to apply for a TRV. You just do it using the online tool:

What kind of permit: study or work? You can apply online for TRV if you have study/work permit. The expiring date will be same as the one on your work/study permit. It's all simple!

I have kind of a similar question. my work permit and study permit both expired last week. I applied for post-graduation work permit, 2 months ago. I am travelling next week, so can I apply TRV from home country without the approval of the PGWP??? Because who knows how long its still gonna take to approve, it says 99 days on website for procession time. Do I need any kind of permit to apply for TRV from country???
