Sorry for posting this under CEC.

I applied for PR under CEC. I have valid WP till June 2014.
I want to apply for TRV. I have filled all the forms and ready to send the same.

I heard some where that we need to send return envelop along with the application, If anyone has applied for TRV(through Ottawa office) please let me know the process.

Thanks

Its not mendatory to send envelope, if you dont then they will send back you passport in regular mail and they are not responsible if something happen to that mail. lost or misplace. as its a general delivery not secured or gauranteed post

You dont want to loose your passport in the regular mail. do you :)..do send the return envelope...

Ask for a prepaid envelope at Canada Post....

Thanks for the response.

CIC website says,

Purchase two prepaid 24 x 32 cm Xpresspost—National envelopes at any Canada Post retail outlet.
Enclose one envelope in the other envelope. This second envelope will be used to return your passport and other applicable documents to you. Add the documents you wish to send to us in support of your application.

I`m not sure how to put 24 x 32 envelop inside 24 x 32 one... Sorry if you feel the question is silly.

You can fold the envelope and put inside the other. Don't worry as there are lot of people of who did this on this forum and everything was fine with them.

I will be applying for TRV within Canada (worker, Paper filing), however I gathered following information.

Can anyone help me verifying, if anything is missed and clarify my doubts below:

Application For Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) within Canada (worker, Paper filing):

Forms:
1) Document Checklist – Applicants in Canada [IMM 5721] (PDF, 577 KB)
2) Application for Temporary Resident Visa [IMM 5257] (PDF, 338 KB)
3) Family Information [IMM 5645] (PDF, 59 KB)
4) Schedule 1 – Application for Temporary Resident Visa [IMM 5257 - Schedule 1] (PDF, 61 KB)

Docs:
1) Fee Payment (online receipt)
2) Valid Passport
3) 2 Photos
4) Current WP copy
5) Proof of financial support ( how to prove this, what all docs required? )
6) Photocopy of Valid return ticket ( What is this? Is this required ? )
7) Any additional docs required by visa office (What other docs should be submitted?)

Question:
Is Company letter not required ? It is not mentioned in checklist !!

5) your bank statement
6) you are already in canada don't need this.
7) your educational documents, job letter with your duties and income, leave letter from employer saying i am allowing this
person ----- weeks of paying leave to meet his/her parents in ........ country

Thanks Mannte

Just to be clear, i am applying TRV for myself

5. Get a "statement of account balance" from your bank.
6. Not applicable, since you are in Canada.
7. A recently signed confirmation of employment letter from your employer - it should state when you were hired and that you are still employed, full-time or part-time, salary, etc. It's not on the checklist, but very important because it helps establish that you have a compelling reason(i.e. job) to be in Canada.
You do not need a leave of absence, since you are already in Canada.

I don't really know what an acceptable "minimum balance" would be... since you work, you can say that and write the total amount in your bank account(s) including any investments.

@ Kalamkm -

If i got you correct, you are currently on WP which is expiring soon. You have already applied for CEC. Have you got your AOR?

And you are not interested to continue your work and apply for Bridging Open Work Permit...instead of TRV? Just curious..

His work permit expires in June 2014, so he will be eligible to apply for a bridging open work permit from Feb 2014, provided he has his AOR by then.
