Hello all,

A friend of mine is a Canadian PR. Her mother (from Russia) applied for a TRV to visit in Canada in Summer 2018. Mother has a depended child (12 years old), who also applied for TRV for a joint visit. Mother received TRV, but the child was refused (not sufficient ties to home country). Is there any chance to reapply for TRV for a child? If yes, what could be added to the application? Mother is married, husband and child's father is staying in home country. Any advice is much appreciated.

1. How long do they want to visit?
2. What documents did they submit for the child?
3. Has the child traveled to other visa-required countries?

Hi Bryanna,

1. They were planning to visit for 4-5 weeks in July (tourist season in Nova Scotia, vacation period for mother)
2. For child they submitted the following documents: passport, sponsor letter from mother, invitation from canadian PR and her husband who is a canadian citizen), bank statements (proof of finances); letter from mother's employer stating vacation time is allowed, etc; sponsors (mothers) ownership for a condo unit where the family lives; letter from child's school, birth certificate, father's passport copy, marriage certificate for her mother and father; letter from father with a permission for a child to leave country; financial statements from inviting canadian PR and her husband; letter from husbands employer, marriage certificate between inviting couple.
3. Yes, she traveled a lot (Spain, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Hungary), pretty much every half-year she travels. She also has a current valid Schengen visa with expiry date in 1 year from now. Her visas were always respected and she never broke any time rules for time allocated.

Perhaps they should order notes to get more insight? Any help is much appreciated.
