Hello Friends

I submitted online application for TRV on 29th April from US (West) and have not heard anything back so far. I am a bit confused regarding the online processing time posted on cic website (i.e. 35 days for los angeles). Is that for paper applications or online applications ?

Also, I want to enquire about the application status now.. where do I have to send the enquiry?

CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

or

los angeles case specific enquiry

It is for all applications.

If the site says 35 days then at least give them that time, thus by next friday. Remember, those dates are an ESTIMATE, that is an average of 80% of all cases.

I would worry by week 8 or 9, you are in week 5, so relax and let them work.

Well.. tomorrow it will be over 35 calendar days, that's what posted on cic

Exactly. The nearest pass that date, the more chances of you getting a generic "application under process" automated answer.

As I said, worry on week 8 or 9.

Cheers.

Visas submitted from the US rarely get refused. That is because those who apply from the US are legal US residents on some kind of visa (Student or work visas).
Now for the timeline, visas take anywhere between 1 week and 2 months. My visa took 5 weeks. My husband's took 2 months though we both applied at the same time with almost the same documents.
If you don't get any passport request by June 15, send an email to the consulate in LA.

it takes 35 working days for the visa .
i have applied on april 5th and pp requested on may 30.

akil_f1, in your case, it took 40 working days, 8 weeks!

I am a little bit on the edge now. My parents are in US on tourist visas. We are going to an Alaska cruise trip on 7/24. They submitted their application online on 5/30. If it takes that long just to get passport request, we would never be able to make the trip! >:(

That's why you should have gotten your visas BEFORE buying any cruise tickets.

Hope you get the request in time!!!
