Hi,
I wish to apply a TRV for mother in law and brother in law. Reason to apply for brother is because he has minor down syndrome i.e. he's dependent on his mother to an extent that he just wants her to be with him other than that no disability and he does all his work including ironing clothes, going out with friends etc. This is the reason I wouldn't risk going for super visa for my mom in law. We can get a medical certificate from doctor confirming that he is not on medication and requires minimal support.

Secondly, if there are chances for this TRV - should the bank statement (for funds) be on my mom-in-laws name or is it sufficient to be on father in law's name?

For ties to home country, we can provide property papers that are on the name of my mother in law and my father in law won't be visiting so that's another +ve aspect that she'll eventually return back.

@Bryanna - Please if you and others can guide on this.

Thank you.

Hi,

IMO, it's going to be an uphill task and incredibly challenging for your brother-in-law to get a TRV. IRCC would consider him as someone who would likely need social or health services during his visit. IMHO, it would be best not to apply for him. Instead, if possible, you could have a caregiver to take care of him when your mother-in-law is visiting.

While you would prepare his application with 110% efforts/evidence/explanations, you must be prepared for 0% chance of a TRV approval. It's more likely that your mom-in-law would be approved, while he could be denied. You can certainly try though.

1. Does your brother-in-law attend a school for special needs? Or maybe some training?

2. Has he traveled to any other country, maybe the US? Refusals are very high for visa-required countries in such conditions.

We can get a medical certificate from doctor confirming that he is not on medication and requires minimal support.
You'll need to include more than this.

You would need to get your brother-in-law evaluated by a specialist in Down's Syndrome.... preferably by a panel physician. This assessment would cover his medical history, physical examination, mental examination, whether or not he requires any special support, his work and functional capacity, etc.

You would also need to buy travel medical insurance for him as well as or your mother-in-law (not mandatory in her case + advisable to buy insurance coverage for your brother-in-law)

Your father-in-law can provide a Letter of Financial Support + his bank statements + his tax returns.

Your mother-in-law can submit proofs of any other financial investments + property ownership + other commitments to return to by a specific date.

You can post the list of documents you intend to submit + purpose and length of visit so that it's easier to advise

Cheers

Hi,

Just wanted to check. Did your brother-in-law get the TRV? I'm in a similar situation and want to know what all documents I can provide to support our application.
