Dear All,

I’m on PGWP in Canada and it expires on June, 2022. My TRV however expires on August, 2021. I’m planning to leave the country and I cannot get back before its due date. Can I apply for extension 7 months earlier to get my passport on time before my travel?

thank y’all

A TRV extension will not allow you re-enter Canada. You need a new TRV.

Thank you for your quick response. Should I apply for a new TRV? I’m holding the same work permit as when I got my current TRV.
If you leave Canada and your TRV expires while you are outside of Canada, you will need a new TRV to re-enter Canada. You can't re-enter Canada based on your PGWP. So yes, you will need to apply for a new TRV.

Thanks. My question is «can I apply for extension of my TRV while I’m in Canada and 7 months prior to its expiration date?» I want to apply for it now, before I leave the country.

Hi All,
My Kid entered Canada with us (Canadian PR) and currently we did medical for PR processing requested by IRCC but we also need to extend her visitor status since it is expiring in couple of months. In visitor visa extension application IRCC asking to upload the medical record as per checklist .Can we upload the same medical done for PR since in that request/report there is UCI number for PR processing or we need to new medical test again for TRV extension?

Hi,

I got V1 visa with an expiry date of Feb 2022 however my passport is valid for next 10 years. My question is can I apply for new TRV from within Canada or am I supposed to leave Canada and then apply for new TRV?

Please help with appropriate response.

Thanks.

You only got a short TRV because there were concerns about your profile. How long have you been in Canada, what are you doing in Canada, why do you need to remain in Canada longer, etc.?
