TRV extension or change of status

We submitted my wifes PR inland on July 31st. Her present TRV expires on October 27th. Should we be asking for a change of status or an extension of hwer TRV? Also will she be given an extension because we are now married and have a PR in progress?

"Implied status:
If your temporary resident visa expires after you have submitted your application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada, you will be considered in status as a temporary resident until a decision is made on the application. This is known as an Implied Status."

To me, an application for PR is the same as an "application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada" . . . it doesn't say you must extend your TRV. In that case (legal counsel correct me if I am wrong), since you have "applied" you now have 'implied status' until a decision is made.

Having a PR application in process unfortunately isn't an extension of authorization to stay in Canada in itself. You'll need to apply for an extension, or you'll be considered out of status.

I'd like to see a judge or CIC official tell me I have misintrepreted that section of text, there's nothing vague about it.

It is not Implied status is an"application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada" A application to emigrate is not an application for extension, as you don't have anything to extend.
