TRV Bar codes and saving issues

Hello,

I am in the process of completing the TRV application form for my wife, but the bar codes didn't show up...just get text like IMM5257_07_2012-01 to 05, but no bar codes...using Safari, because couldn't even get Adobe to load the application on Chrome.

Also, if I try to save the file and then open it again, it is cleared and I have to fill it in again.

Any advice?

when you open the form, it is still under safari file, click the save (diskette) icon so that it will be in pdf file...did you validate it?if so, the barcode should appear...c",)

Yeah, validated it. but the bar codes did not appear.No matter I filled it in manually....will this matter without the bar codes?

well, the purpose of the barcode is for cic to simply scan it and boom!your data appears automatically, in this way, there will be less error in encoding your information again to their system...just check the guide if they would still allow you to submit application without a barcode...because i think, they now require that all generic applications should have a barcode to avoid errors and save time in processing...c",)

In the guide all it says is "the barcodes will not appear if done manually"

yes, it means, if you encode your data manually (by hand)..but if you filled in the data by computer and validate it, the barcode must appear...i was using safari when i did mine and the barcode appeared right after i validated it...make sure you are oline though...c",)

Still no luck..will try the hotel's computer. Will they accept a manually filled in form?

the guide for trv appl'n says: Note: Completing the form electronically is easier and reduces the risk of errors that can slow down the application process.
you may fill up the form by hand...c",)

I found an Internet cafe that had the most up to date Adobe Reader and now, it's all good..I also have a clear manual version. Thanks for your help!
