Hi

Consider this scenario...I have a Sponsorship case in process

I apply for a TRV, it gets approved. My wife is asked to give her passport in.

A few weeks later she gets her sponsorship case approved and they also ask for her passport or meidcal but the passport has been already submitted for the TRV.

or she gets her TRV comes to Canada and then is requested to hand in her passport or come for a medical?

Can something like this happen?

Reason why I'm asking if I don't want to screw up the Sponsorship process while applying for the TRV

The processing of the sponsorship and TRV applications are complete separate. So yes - it's possible you may receive passport requests for both at the same time.

The best advice is to check the timelines. See what are the stages and what timeframes are average. Plan on that.

For example, if you just recieved AOR for the PR that is an excellent time to request a TRV as the Passport Request is months away. A bad tmiming would be to start a TRV application AFTER doing your medicals.

ok got it but in the event you go ahead and submit your passport for the TRV and then get a call to submit the passport for the PR....i gues you have to wait for the TRV to come back and then send it in?

Yes.
