My employer want to participate in for this program for some employees like me. And I have only 4 months left to expire my Open work permit so I have a question about this issue.
I was wondering, is there any chance to apply for OPW extension after my employer apply the program on my behalf ? If I have, at which stage? Thanks in advance

Without knowing your profile or your employer's then this is with the employer to submit an application. Chances of approval within 4 months may not be possible.

TRRP employee eligibility criteria requires a valid work permit that will expire less than 1 year from TRRP application form submission date. Employer services most likely designed this limit considering their target processing time of 60 days. However they have also announced that they'd received high number of applications so processing times could be longer.

Based on that do you think one could use this as a rationale for work permit extension request? Just brainstorming because employer already showed their intent with submitting retention application. Now with uploading employer TRRP submission form as proof, would it be possible to get maintained status? Or should one apply for a Visitor Record before work permit expires to stay legally in Canada and stop working while waiting for manitoba employer services decision?
