Question about filing for PR:

If one is in Canada on a temporary resident permit and is apply for PR and recently has a police report against them, could that stop them from receiving a PR?

It's hard to answer your question without knowing the full details of your case.

The short answer is that you have to be admissible to Canada in order to qualify for and be able to successfully obtain PR. If someone is in Canada on a TRP, this typically means they are inadmissible and don't qualify for rehabilitation - or haven't completed the rehabilitation process yet.

If you are inadmissible to Canada, you won't be able to complete the PR process until you qualify and apply for rehabilitation. If it's going to be a few years before you'll qualify for rehabilitation, then you'll need to hold off applying for PR until then.

Record in the usa it has been 5 years and also in Canada on TRP with domestic police report no charges laid.

hi Scylla,
a wife is inadmissable to canada can the husband and kids apply for PR?

I believe they will be denied as well if the husband is inadmissible.
