A family member's TRP and Study permit have expired. He did apply for study extension well before TRP & Study permit expiration, but received an IRCC letter that he should mail IMM Forms for a TRP. The letter doesn't mention that the extension is denied, a receipt number for $150 fee is also shared in the letter, and it's mentioned to pay additional $240 for the TRP.
Does anyone know about such a process for TRP? Had he known, he would have followed the mail-in application process instead of applying for study extension online.
What are the chances of approval for a new TRP?
