I landed with my family in the last week of June 2012. Now I have to travel out of Canada in a week but my wife and daughter will be staying here. We have already received our SIN Cards. MY question is that, Is it possible for me to travel without receiving my PR Card. If I travel alone at this time what will be the procedure for re-entry into Canada.

Do you hold a passport from a visa exempt or non-visa exempt country?

If you do not have a visa exempt passport, you will need a PR travel document at a Canadian embassy before you can fly back. The only exception if you are coming from the US by road in a private or rented car.

Getting the PR travel document is not hard but the time it takes to get it depends on the embassy. It can be anywhere from 1 day to 6 weeks.

Thank you Scylla & Leon for the reply & giving the valuable information.
In case, if I travel along with my family now without receiving the PR cards, can a relative or friend send them by courier/postage to us in Saudi Arabia to travel back to Canada instead of applying for Travel Documents?

Yes, if your relatives receive your PR card and you are still overseas, they can mail it to you.
