Travelling with with a Canadian child with an expired PR

Hi,
I have been told that my wife can travel and reenter Canada with an expired PR if she is companying her Canadian citizen baby. Is that true?

She can enter Canada regardless, if she is still a PR. . It's getting on the aircraft that's the hard part. She needs either a VALID PR card or a permanent resident travel document (PRTD). Having a Canadian citizen child will not assist if she doesn't have valid travel documents.
