After my wife gets citizenship can she use a Nexus card in place of her PR card when boarding a flight in another country to come to Canada. My wife is Mexican and will have to enter Mexico using a Mexican passport. Apparently it is a rule in Mexico. If she were to not also bring her Canada passport once she can get one.

No, she requires her PR card with her Mexican passport to board a flight to Canada.

So what is your question? ???

I am thinking once she gets citizenship maybe she could use the Nexus card to fly back with her Mexican passport and not carry a Canadian passport.

No, she cannot. Travelling to and from Mexico, she will always need to carry both passports with her, using the Mexican one to enter Mexico and the Canadian one to return to Canada.

I'm a dual citizen (US/Canadian) and my wife is a Canadian PR with an American passport. We both have Nexus cards and when we travel to the US, we just take our US passports and Nexus cards. Airlines accept a Nexus card to board a flight back to Canada (at least Air Canada does). And the Nexus kiosk at the airports don't need to see your Canadian passport, nor does the officer in the Nexus booth (if the kiosks are all down).

Try getting on a plane to Canada from Mexico, with a Mexican passport with no TRV. They won't accept a Nexus Card.

Thanks all, I guess she will just have to carry both documents.
