travelling documents

I am planning on landing here first, then apply for a travel documents to go back home and get my kids. wondering how travel documents works
for recent cec immigrants I don't want to wait for 2 - 3 months for pr card

Keep in mind that you have to apply for travel document to the appropriate visa office outside of Canada.

thanks guys for this info. @ Toby, I really appreciate this. I have to go thru this link. Does it means that I will be outside of Canada to apply or within Canada?
( it says permanent resident abroad) will they issue me the documents b4 travelling???????? thanx once again for this effort @ Toby and natinthehat

You are welcome. You cannot get travel document inside of Canada and if you leave Canada without PR card, you will have to apply for travel document outside.
I called CIC call-centre since I have a vaca planned and they told me to land upon my return from vaca, since there was no urgent PR card process for new applicants.

So the best thing do to is go back, grab your kids and come back all together and land
