Hello Everyone,

Of-course there were difficulties for life in my Home country and the reason I left my home country. Life was not secure there. But its also very panic and distressing when you leave your close family including parents and youngest siblings. I have to travel to home country once before my citizenship as there is urgency. Of-course I will take the risk of my life but I am away from my very Old parents since years. Mother is very old and also sick. What will be the options I have ? Please advise. Your advice will be appreciable. Waiting for reply.

Thanks

Traveling back to your home country can sometimes result in your citizenship application being refused and your PR status being revoked. I would recommend that you take a look at the citizenship section of the forum. There was at least one recently discussion on this subject there.

Hi Scylla,
Thank you for your prompt Reply. I read all the threads which you shared and it was informative. But the link which was shared there regrading one of the decision by BC Judge is not about the travelling back to home country while the reason was different.

I am agree with you that it is risk towards citizenship application and it can happen but it is not necessary that every has to face this. Because some people whom I know, they traveled multiple times to their home country and they did not face any difficult during their citizenship application.

Secondly, when I appeared in interview, I received one paper from Immigration Officer, where it was written that if you are unable to obtain the passport from you country of citizenship then you need to apply for Canadian Travel Document. What does it mean ? In my opinion it means you can travel with your home country passport. But of-course, it is a risk but if somebody has urgency like his mother is sick and near to death, then what will be the option he has ?

I am really depressed and could not decide what to do .
