Traveling to Canada on expired passport, valid visa

Yes, I have applied for work permit extension Oct 2025. Since I am planning to travel
To India on Jan 2026. Will I get re entry in Canada with my existing work permit (validity sept 2026). Applied for extension will cancel my previous valid work permit?

You need to apply for a TRV as well before it expires. A WP is not a travel document.

Hello,
I have a work permit valid till August 2026 and TRV valid till Jan 2027 as my old passport has same validity. I have renewed my passport few weeks ago. The work permit has old passport number on it.

Can I travel outside Canada and get entry back in Canada with my new passport with my work permit and trv in the old passport?
