Traveling in Personal Car to US on CoPR and returning back

hi there,
I have seen mixed and confusing comments about if we can travel to US and return back on CoPR while waiting for PR card in personal car.

Has anyone travelled to US and returned back to Canada on CoPR in personal car while waiting for PR Card? Please share your experience. I heard somewhere that it takes a lot of time and paperwork on border when you enter Canada again. Is that true?

Yes. Did it over Easter and there were no problems at all.

Guy looked at my Passport and CoPR for about 10 seconds, asked where me and my wife were headed (home), where home was (Kitchener), then waved us through.
