I will travel to colombia on january using RTD, I couldn’t find any information about visa requirements cause with my nationality I don’t need visa to travel to colombia.
So I emailed the embassy, they said that I do not need visa since my nationality is Turkish. However I am still fearing that they could reject my entry to colombia, or even back to Canada as I am using the power (?) of my nationality. Did anyone had a similar experience?
Here is the e-mail.
We would like to inform you that it is possible to travel to Colombia using a Canadian Travel Document.

However, the visa requirement is determined by your nationality of origin.

In your case, as a Turkish national, you do not need to apply for a visa to enter Colombia for tourism purposes.

my email;
Hi, I am a protected person (1951 Convention Refugee) here in Canada. I have a valid refugee travel document that was issued by Canada, my nationality is Turkish, and I am planning to visit Colombia by the end of January and hoping to stay 11 days. I was wondering if I need a visa to enter Colombia, if so, are there any additional application steps other than those mentioned in the Colombian government website.

I would clarify if you are not a PR or not. This is especially the case if you are not a PR since non-PRs tend to have a higher chance of needing a visa from countries. Being Turkish shouldn’t have any impact on your ability to travel Colombia visa free. All protected people and refugees should have the same visa requirements since you are not traveling on your home country passport.
