Hi, I have a doubt. Please help me out.
My husband lives in Canada and has sponsored me as spouse. Our application processing is going on. I received my medical examination mail few days back and he received his sponsorship eligibility mail.

Coming August 31st is our first wedding anniversary and he is planning to fly down to India for a month.
Will there be any problem if he leaves Canada to visit me for a month? Will that cause any problem to our processing?
Please help.
Thank you in advance.
:)

I believe he is supposed to stay in Canada during the entire process..
I believe he could travel but not spend much time outside Canada because I'm also sponsoring my husband and I asked my representative if I can go out and he said yes. Because I have spent the required number of days to be able to apply for citizenship.

I’d wait for one of the seniors to answer. I was under the impression that as a PR, you’re supposed to stay in Canada during the process. Whoever, citizens do not.

Hes a PR so he cannot leave that long
I thought PR only had to spend 2 out of every 5 years in Canada to maintain PR status, so a month away should be no problem at all.

And I don't think there is any requirement for the Sponsor to stay in Canada the entire time of the process, infact outland you can both be outside of Canada.

Exactly. Same thing my representative told me.

The 2 out of 5 years is for PRs wishing to maintain their PR status, has nothing to do with this. PR sponsors are required to remain in Canada to sponsor, only Canadian citizens can leave. However PR sponsors can leave for about a couple weeks and thats acceptable, as this isnt considered being a non resident.

Short trips 2-3 weeks are okay, safe side is 2 weeks but make sure he answers his phone if NDVO/CIC calls. They had asked for proof of return for someone in the NDVO thread and the app took a little longer.
