Hello experts,

I have a question, I received my ITA and started filling my application. In one of the section where I need to give all travel history of last 10 years, I have specific scenario.

I am staying in Canada since last 2 years but before that I was staying in US for 5 years and during my US stay I had few trips to Europe and India, now in this travel section it asks to fill all the trip details outside your country of residence or origin. so how should I be listing all the trips?

Option 1:
create a big trip for US from 2013 till 2018 and put all the intermediate travel below that (excluding trips to India).

Trip 1: 2013 to 2018 USA work
Trip 2: July 2013 till August 2013 Spain Business
Trip 3: Sept 2014 till Oct 2014 Germany Business

Option 2:
split US trip individually for all the travel did from US.

Trip1: Jan 2013 till July 2013 USA work
Trip 2: July 2013 till August 2013 Spain Business
Trip 3: August 2013 till Sept 2014 USA work
Trip 4: Sept 2014 till Oct 2014 Germany Business
Trip 5: Oct 2014 till Dec 2018 USA work

which is the correct way? any inputs appreciated.

A trip doesn't last 5 years. I would recommend option 2
Thanks for replying, but I don't understand when you say trip doesn't last 5 years. Actually I went outside india for work to USA in 2013 and then from US to europe trip in 2015, so my first trip of US itself will be of 2 years duration. Even when I split it with my option 2. The main confusion I have is whether I should mention US trip multiple times or just create 1 big trip of entire duration.

A trip is a trip - you go for a few weeks/a month. if you're taking a gap year you take 9 months to find yourself. Going somewhere for 2 years is not a trip. It's a posting . . . a transfer . . . . a secondment, but it's not a trip.

well, I went outside India and stayed straight 2 years in US, then I will have to mention that in my travel details, correct?
